With more than 40 years of experience in New York real estate, BCB Property Management cofounder, principal and president Debrah Lee Charatan brings a singular record of achievement to her work. Before opening BCB in 2008, Debrah owned and operated Debrah Lee Charatan Realty and, earlier, Bach Realty – renowned powerhouse firms in New York’s commercial real estate marketplace. At both of these businesses, Debrah forged enduring relationships with some of the city’s top real estate owners and earned a reputation as a smart decision-maker and leading sales broker.
As a testament to her expertise, Debrah penned a series of articles on real estate matters for the New York Law Journal, taught real estate courses at New York University and Queens College, and lectured at Columbia Business School, Baruch College and other such institutions. In addition, she was named Glamour’s Outstanding Working Woman and Up-and-Coming Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year by Women Business Owners of New York, and was profiled several times in in Cosmopolitan, USA Today, Forbes, Fortune, Harper’s Bazaar and elsewhere.
Outside of real estate, Debrah plays an active role in the community and gives whenever possible to humanitarian, arts and cultural organizations through the Charatan / Holm Family Foundation. At present, she holds membership in Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation’s Gevurah Society, the Real Estate Council of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the board of trustees of Selfhelp Community Services Foundation, where she serves as vice chair.
Debrah is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and earned a BS at Baruch College.
